Blue Lotus Tribe

About Blue Lotus Tribe

Blue Lotus Tribe is a Tribal Fusion Belly Dance troupe dedicated to the evolution of this exciting and fresh dance form and to bringing original and creative performances to the public. The tribe begins with the elements of Middle-Eastern belly dance, both modern and folkloric, and combines them with movements from the dances of Spain , India , and the nomadic Gypsy people of Asia and Europe . This fusion of world dance styles produces an unforgettable show that is both unique and fun for the audience.

Blue Lotus Tribe performs an energetic combination of innovative choreographies and improvised group and solo dances. Their shows include a variety of displays of grace and power, including dancing with swords and finger cymbals. From slow and entrancing floor dances to most dynamic drum solos, the Blue Lotus Tribe assures the audience an enjoyable show they will not soon forget.

Different Drummer Belly Dancers

About Different Drummer Belly Dancers

Different Drummer Belly Dancers (DDBD) mixes traditional belly dancing and modern music, borrowing from cabaret, American Tribal, and Dunyavi Gypsy styles of belly dance. This troupe believes the power, beauty, joy, and grace of belly dance can be expressed in modern 20th and 21st century music.

Bloomington audiences have seen DDBD at the 4th Street Festival, CultureFest, Eroticon, and the Bloomington Renaissance Faire. DDBD also enjoys performing to a national audience at Gencon in Indy. They are proud to be co-organizers with the Bloomington Area Arts Council in bringing Bloomington Belly Dances to life.
